Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6055 How to display error code

Just wondering if there is a way to set the machine so it displays the error code for the customer? The only way I can see it is by going into service mode.

when the error occurs the customer sees it on the display. the display will read e0001-0102 turn power off then on. just get the customer to record the error. or when machine is in error state touch the status monitor button and it should display what the error is

The error doesn't display until the customer chooses a function that's affected by it. I tell my customers to hit the copy icon and the error is usually displayed then.

I hope they change that soon. Copy button seems to be the easiest way. I have some customers that have had their machines for years and still can't remember. No other way than get them to look.
