I have a adv 6065 runs great until I connect the sorter then the machine acts like it is going to make a copy then it says stopped and doesnt give a jam or an error code

I would start by updating the system software.

make sure that the sensor flags for the finisher trays are not bound up and causing a communication error between the copier and the finisher. They are thin plastic and can get knocked out place rather easily.

Someone swapped the HDD when returning the machine. Its amazing what the correct software will do, Thanks
