    do u know how to check Jam Codes in service mode

    press Additional Functions Key>then 2&8 Keys together>then Additional Functions key again,

    then select Copier>Display>Jam

    example;
    010D------------01 is a delay ( paper does not reach flag in correct time)
    0205------------02 is a stationary (paper blocking flag action/ or flag stuck in position)

    only when running
    duplex copies.

    The problem has been found to be caused by the duplex/feed sensor PI 17 becoming dirty. The sensor is located in the transfer roller housing in the image below. It is called the duplexing internal guide in the parts book. One half of this unit is found on figure140 right door assembly. The other half is found on figure 141, paper feeder frame assembly.

    There is an opening between the two plastic guides in this assembly. Toner drops down and clogs the eye of the sensor.
    To access the sensor open the right door and remove the silver screw shown in the image below. You will need to use a stubby screw driver.

    Once the screw has been removed the two plastic housings can be separated and the sensor is clearly visible. It can be cleaned or replaced. The part number for the sensor is FK2-0149-000. The part number for the flag is FC5-0657-000, duplexing feeder sensor flag. The part number for the sensor flag spring is FC5-0658-000, torsion spring.

    After cleaning the sensor it can be checked using the I/O mode. Service mode > Copier > I/O > DC CON > screen 3 of 5 P021 bit # 2.

      The top tray feed I have a lot of service calls (bad design). The jam code would be helpful. Try the bottom feed with paper in the same direction. If it does not jam replace top tray roller and sep assembly. Could be a lot of things. I had a 2030 that would jam a lot double sided at a church. The small door on the right side (top) entire assembly comes out. (Forget what you call it). But that is what fixed the machine. There are a couple of small solenoids in there I think are just weak. It would be intermittent and sometimes I could feed while I was there but no jams. Maybe 010D but I forget exact jam. It has been more than a year now and no two sided jam calls and I went there a half a dozen times cleaning and inspecting with no luck. Maybe second/third feed assembly or something like that.

          Does it jam from all trays? Does it jam only on duplex?
          if only on duplex remove the 3way unit (exit unit) thats the top right side with the littles door and make sure the sensor has not been knocked out of its bracket. Quite easy to remove.
          Had quite a few of these.
