    There are several tech pubs about this. Needs to be narrowed down using these pubs. I have seen this once and my fix was low voltage power supply. But I had to test voltages to determine that

      **********

      The imageRUNNER ADVANCE does not turn on. The LCD display is blank and the green power indicator is lit.

      Solution :

      This issue was caused by a faulty main controller 2 (FM4-3138-000).

      =============

      The green power indicator on the display is on, but display screen is off and no rotation heard.

      Solution :

      Replacing the High Voltage PCB Assembly resolved the issue. The part number for the High Voltage PCB Assembly is FM3-8175-000.

      ========
      Could also be a Low Voltage Power Supply Unit needs replacement. The part number is FM3-8179-010

      need to do some voltage checks.

        Thanks for that. I did wonder, but better to get some idea before delving in!!. The other threads point towards high or low pcbs. (poss main controller. Hope not) Will do some checks today

          Run main controller diagnostics.... I personally have had to replace Main 1 for this issue. Remote signal absent so power supply wouldn't come on

            It was high voltage power supply. All sorted. Luckily enough we have a local pcb repair guy who is awsum. Sorted it in an hour. Thanks for all your advice guys

              Hi Guys.
              Further to this issue machine failed again. this time it was the main controller pcb (number 1) left hand board. Replaced board and problem solved or so l thought. It now comes up with E000246-0002 which points towards other controller board (number 2) right hand board possible bad connection. Have removed and reseated boards but still no go. I would not have thought that number 2 controller board was faulty as it was working ok before left board failed. Any ideas would be appreciated.

                E246
                so the Controller System Error Diagnosis Tool pointed to Main 2 ?
                series manual shows no description foe e246

                iR's E246 is usually a Counter Pcb issue / or cable to that board.

                is printer on a dedicated outlet line ?

                have u check for proper voltage and proper ground ?

                small power surges of over 10% can cause boards to fail----

                  Thanks for getting back to me. We have actually lost our Canon engineer and trying to find another at present (who is good) not easy so struggling on.
                  I found that E246 error does seem to point to controller board 2. It is possible there is a cable malfunction to the board (l will check that out Monday) copier is on mains outlet direct from wall socket. Voltages are ok and earthing fine. Could have been a power surge in customers office l suppose but not mentioned when machine collected . If only 10% variant then possible a surge took out board 1 and caused damage to board 2. If cannot find much more about it will use as a ships Anchor!!!. Thanks again guys always appreciated
