    [Misc] Imagerunner 8205 toner gauge question

    HI, we have Imagerunner ADVANCE 8205 and installed new OEM toner we used abut 37,000 pages out of the 70,000 estimate but looking at the Consumables Information Remaining Toner OK the bar is full is this normal ?

    The estimate is based on a (usually) 4% or 6% fill. It looks like a small paragraph. Most documents are 18% or higher. So I assume you got what you are suppose to. If you are really concerned a lot of machines come with a toner save mode which puts less toner on the page. We never use it and I would expect service call for light copy if we did.

      Thanks for reply the toner is not empty yet sorry I should sad why is the Toner bar not changing? Is there percentage level that the 8205 will tell you when the toner is getting low?

        Perfectly normal, many customers have noticed that the toner bar doesn't seem to move for a long time then suddenly drops. It's not very responsive.

          I'm pretty sure with the advance series machines, in the consumables screen the toner levels do not change only between okay and low...or something similar. Only a few steps. Not very helpful to customers using the device.

          If you have a Fiery it tells you by percentages - at least on the MAC drivers.
