Canon Imagepass S2 blank display, blinking amber light

I have a customer that is getting the blank screen on the Imagepass S2 (back lit with no text and blinking amber light). They can't print when this occurs. I read a thread mentioning this problem and to remove the battery and reinstall it. I cleaned out the dust from in the computer and removed the battery and reinstalled the battery and all worked for the afternoon. Can the battery be weak and is causing this condition or is this a fan issue? There are 3 fans?

I need help please if anyone has a solution. Thank you

I reset the bios just once but I only had the battery out for 10 seconds approximately then reinstalled it. I'm going back to them this morning and will look more closely at the fans. Are these fans available outside of Canon, from a computer supplier?

        Activity light
The activity light indicates current activity.
        If the light is:

Flashing yellow =The iR-S1 is starting up and the BIOS has established communication with the User Interface Board (UIB).
Flashing green = The iR-S1 is continuing start up and the Windows XPe operating system has established communication with
        the UIB.
Solid green = The iR-S1 is powered-on and in an idle state.
Solid yellow = The iR-S1 is powered off but the AC power cable is plugged into the power source. The Control Panel LCD continues to
draw power when the iR-S1 is powered off.
Flashing or solid red =An error has caused printing to be disabled.

        No light =
The iR-S1 is powered off and the AC power cable is not connected to a power source.

        may find using GOOGLE

        FRONT FAN---FE1-6052-000
Front fan circulates air inside the S2 in order to cool integrated circuits within the system.
An arrow on the side of the fan indicates the airflow direction. Make sure that the fan is positioned so that the arrow points inside the S2

        BACK PANEL FAN---FE1-5741-000
An arrow on the side of the fan indicates the airflow direction.
Make sure that the fan is positioned so that the arrow faces the bottom of the chassis and points toward the back panel.
The fan should blow air out of the back of the chassis.

        CPU FAN
Would not remove/ just blow out with can air.

Re: Canon Imagepass S2 blank display, blinking amber light

At the machine yesterday I did get the Fiery S2 to boot up once after several attempts. The fans would all come on but the hdd did not seem to and then it came back. Can this be a RAM issue or does the S2 HDD start to boot without any commands to boot using the RAM. When the power switch is turned on the S2 it will show the yellow flashing light in moments, fans are on and when it did boot up correctly I heard the high pitch from the HDD start a few seconds after the S2 power switch was turned ON also. If the HDD did NOT give any sound, then it hung with the flashing or steady yellow light and never comes up to idle. Sometimes the screen was black and other times the screen was lit but no text when it would hang and not boot.

When replacing the hdd (80gb) there are 3 files.
          S2V.2.0_SW_DVD1
          S2V.2.0_SW_DVD2
          S2V.2.0_SW_DVD3

Do they all need to go back in? Please any help or advise on how to reinstall the S2 software into the new HDD.

          Thanks for all the help!!

sorry had to correct the links for S2

Canon did not releasing a Service Manual specifically for the imagePASS-S2.
after any re-installation of the System Software, there will be a prompt to enter a password. The default password is “Fiery.1”.

            see links for hdd replacement

            believe #1 & 2 are the system cd's
            #3 is user
