thanks for the info, that part is clearly mentioned in the Canon machine

but what should i do, i check the sensor and contact and examined to dev which apparently seems to be working fine

but the yellow toner bottle seems to be empty

Could this error be caused by empty yellow toner

AND what about the Dark Images?

        Clear error code:
Remove empty yellow toner bottle, using flashlight look inside to see if bottle grippers are both open! If not cut coat hanger bend in a hook shape ond reach in to open both grippers. If both already open then
Put new yellow toner into machine...
Power off and remove yellow drum and developer unit.
Check the coupling at the rear side of the developer unit, if it is black it is the old style. It had Dshape that would strip out causing the developer 's mag roller not to rotate. There was an update/quick fix=white one and a pin because the D shaped shaft actually had a hole already in it!!! As a quick fix,MACGYVER, you can cut an arm off a medium sized binder clip and heat it with a lighter and poke it through one of the legs of the black coupling (hint:use the leg on the flat side of the D) Make sure that the "pin" is long enough to reach into the leg on the other side. Its going to take a couple of heatings, trim off excess pin. Reinstall both dev unit and drum. Power on machine and run auto color mismatch and FULL auto gradation. Test print and check CQ/color....Done

Easier but machine down longer, and more costly, order new dev unit.

        Hope this helps
