    Canon IR C1030i

Canon IR C1030i just had fuser changed because the original fuser's fuser film failed and was causing track marks up one side the the page. I changed the fuser unit with a compatible style new unit and it gave poor fixing and dirty image after a few days. I replaced it with a warranted unit from same manufacturer and this time a day later the machine smelled like burning but the image was ok, when I arrived later the burning stopped. Now another couple of days pass and the image is dirty again and poor fusing.

Is it recommended to only use Canon oem fuser units on this machine? On the IR C5250 that appears to be the case. I'm guessing this is also true on the IRC1030i? Any comments would be great or if someone else has tried this let me know your findings. Thanks for all the help from other techs I have received

We only use oem parts and I have issues with these fusers. Have tried turning to 4 which is highest but seems to work better at 1 or 2. I have had offsetting on almost all of mine.

    Problem :

Images are being smudged by the Fixing Assembly.

    Solution :

If this issue occurs, change COPIER>ADJUST>VIFADJ>FRFS-TMP to a 1 and COPIER>ADJUST>VIFADJ>BKFS-TMP to a 1 in Service Mode. Then in User Mode go to Additional Functions>Adjustment/Cleaning> and perform a Fixing Unit Cleaning.
