iR42xx Casette 3 lifting half way

    Hi

Has anyone had a problem where the tray only lifts halfway then stops?

Lifter gear on cassette is fine and not broken. This problem has now also moved to tray 2 and 4. Replaced harness and DC. Problem still persists.

    Thanks

It detects paper size but the paper does not reach the rollers. So yhe obviously a delay jam occurs as the paper is not picked up

I know its a weird problem. I've been doing this for nearly 20 years and I am stumped.

Now it's clearer, have seen this issue in many iR's over the past 30 yrs.
Paper detection level---- have u removed the pick up units to see position of rollers_?

It goes through all the normal motions to pick up paper but the rollers does not reach the paper as the tray only lifts halfway then stops

                          =----------------------------------------------------------

does the pick up roller rotate when u press start button

                          Cassette Pickup Assembly

The paper inside the cassette is held up by the lifter plate.

When pickup takes place, the pickup solenoid (SL1/SL11) is turned on, and the pickup roller is moved down.
When the pickup roller comes into contact with the surface of paper, the sheet is picked up by rotation of the roller.
Only a single sheet of paper picked up is moved to the feed path by the feed roller and the separation roller, and moved as far as the registration roller by the pickup vertical path roller.
The pickup vertical path roller, pickup roller, feed roller, and separation roller are driven by the cassette pickup motor (M3/M13)

Hi. I get that. The paper doea not lift all the way to the top. It stops halfway, so when the rollers go down to pick up the paper, it does not touch the paper at all. There is a gap between the paper and the roller.
