Canon iR2230 compatible HDD

Hello,

Does anybody have a list of all the HDD's that are compatible (not original) with Canon iR2230, it would be greatly appreciated. And also if the drives for iR2200 are also compatible with iR2230. Thank you in advance

This is the list in the HDFormat.ift file for the IR2200 etc.

I do not have system software for the 2230 so cannot help you with that one

I did accessed the .ift file for iR2230 but it is encrypted so I can't see the list of HDD. Does anybody tried with success to access the 2230 file ?

Looks like the HDD for the IR2230 is HTS541020G9AT00

Come on guys, thats all you can do? Nobody knows, nobody changed the HDD on a Canon iR2230 other than original. Somebody must know what other models of HDD (compatible) should work on iR2230. Please share this info with me.

Anything newer than the 2230 takes a hard drive with a Canon file on it. DO NOT FORMAT. We've been getting all of our replacement 3225 and 3245i hard drives ready to go from Hytech Dealer Services in Fla. 407-297-1001

Guys, I just bought the same HDD model that was in the machine Hitachi Travelstar (HTS541020G9AT00) and still cannot install it. Does anybody got a image of a HDD for iR2230 ? It drives me crazy... whay should I do ? Please somebody HELP !

If a new HDD is installed with a BootRom version lower than v6.36, the system software cannot be installed, and the BootRom cannot be upgraded.

so, when u try to format HDD--SST does not see it/rejects ??
or u get a mismatch message ??

Pink window appears. In upper right corner of the window it says E240 and in the window following:
Error response:Process has ended in error.

That’s about it. What do you think I should do? The HDD is ok I’ve tested it and it is the same freakin model.

did u check if all of your Printers Firmware is registered properly in SST program ??



are u following connection procedure----------------

1- USE a CROSSOVER CABLE for Laptop Connection to Printer

2- Get Printer into SAFE MODE
[HOLD DOWN 2 & 8, POWER "ON" Machine]

3-Then open SST program

4-TO PERFORM HD-FORMAT
1. Select the appropriate model in the “Connect” area.
2. Select the “Single” option.
3. Click on the “Start” button in SST Menu to continue.

I did all of the above like you said.
Version of Service Support Tool: SSTv475Ep / Version firmware: iR2230HD_US_3101
1. Select the model to connect (iR2230HD)
2. Select single ( I even tried batch download)
3. Press start
4. 5. Second window comes up (To use HDD, It must be initialized. Start Initialization? Yes, initialize
6. Pink window appears. In upper right corner of the window it says E240 and in the window following:
Error response:Process has ended in error.

Forget about batch.
How did u test this HDD?

Well, either your HDD has issues, or that printer format file is corrupted.

That .itf file must recognize HDD right off the start single.

Was your printer ever a G model (goverment) _?

I've got the new HDD that I ordered and uploaded the firmware successfully but... after the restart I got error E602-0002. I re done this process like 5 times with the same error in the end. Could this have something to do with the ROM or something like that (someone says), would I need a lower version or firmware ??
Anyway it's a good beginning, the HDD is working, formatting, uploading everything but in the eend after is asking me to switch power off and on again it stops.

Any thoughts/ideas ??
