    Hi Guys

    Hope you can help. (Still looking for a Canon engineer)

    We have had a long running issue with an IR2030. The left hand controller board failed. As there are two of these boards to save messing about we changed both boards which came from a working scrap machine however having tried various combinations of boards nearest we can get to getting machine working is E355-0004 error. Machines comes up ready for about one second then this error comes on



    I recently searched the forums on here and it appears this error is basically due to the machine realizing it has different boards installed. According to the info l have found on a similar model, if you go into service mode, COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>E355-CLR this should sort the problem however (here we go) on the IR2030 l can get to COPIER/FUNCTION/CLEAR BUT THE E355-CLR DOES NOT SHOW UP AS AN OPTION. Does anyone know if this reset is located elsewhere in the functions. There must be some way of resetting these boards. I have actually dropped the batteries to see if this resets but to no avail. HELP!!!

      You need to swap the soft counter pcb as it stays with the machine, not the controller. Haven't seen this model in years so I can't be more specific about it's exact location on the controller.

          The board should be the same for the 2030, what did you do with the little daughter boards that sit on the Main board? They are machine specific.
          If you changed those as well then machine is possibly dead. Unless you contact Japan and they will supply a new flash PCB

              Many thanks for your help. I did swap the small (daughter) boards over and have tried them in various combinations as l used a board from another woprking machine. I have decided to use it as a "ships anchor". Cost of replacing with new board etc just not worth it.
