IR-3225 adf scans like duplex all the time for 1 sided and scans 4 times for duplex

This is an ADF U1 that I just cant figure out what would cause this.
If anyone has ever seen this I really need some help. This customer is very far away from me.
I think I will try a different adf on the machine and see what happens.
    Thanks.

Perform the following in Service Mode, to have the Feeder scan the original once for single sided copy.

    Service Mode...LEVEL TWO:
    COPIER > OPTION > BODY > SCANSLCT__set to " 0"

When in level one of service mode , to access level2, press add functions then #2key.

Check the setting under COPIER>OPTION>BODY>LEVEL 2>SCANSLCT. (*28* *2 COPIER>OPTION>BODY>SCANSLCT.) There are two settings available.

0: OFF (Determining the scan area by document detection)

1: ON (Determining scan area by paper size)

If the setting is "1" the feeder will scan the original twice. Set to "0" for single scanning.
