    IRC4580/IRC4580i service manual

    Hi,

    is there any posibility to get service manuals for Canon IRC4580i. I'm am having a bit of problem locating reason for my constant paper jams with error code 020B (and 0205).

      Replace CL-1 (FH6-1986-000) and CL-2 (FH6-5052-020) in duplex unit





      020B jam only when duplexing.

      Solution :

      In this case PS 24 was found to be bad. Tech replaced PS 24 and the jam was resolved.
      PS 24 is difficult to find. To check the sensor in the I/O mode, first find the sensor by pulling out the multi feed assembly. In the image below the sensor arm is visible in the center of the metal plate. Check if the sensor arm moves freely and is spring loaded. The I/O address is P007 bit 7. The sensor should be at a (0) condition at power on. It changes to a (1) when paper passes over the sensor arm. The I/O address for this sensor can be checked with the multi feed assembly pulled out of the machine. The part # for the sensor is FH7-7312-000.


      To remove the Duplex Pickup Sensor, PS 24.
      1) Remove the rail support plate [2] of the manual feed unit.
      -2 screws [1] from the rear side plate side.



      4) Remove the lower guide plate[2].
      -2 screws [1].
      **Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

          Thanks for your reply.

          Yes it jams only when double sided printing/copying. As far I only tested A4 sized paper from tray 1 and 2, both with error. I tried the sensor PS24 and I found it ok. Which are the sensors CL-1 an CL-2, and how to test them?

          In diagnostics DC-CON at P008 bit 10 is constantly shifting 0-1. Is this connected with the error?
