[Misc] CANON IR 3235 can not copy Legal size on DADF

    Hello,

I need help on Canon iR3235. When I copy in Legal (size 8.5in x 13.60 inch or 21.5cm x 34.5cm) paper size on DADF, and select the tray as Legal, the resulting output copy does not fully capture the original copy. While it works well with A4 size.

I have tried the following settings but with no success -

    Model-SZ - "0" and "3" (I did not try "1" since i need A4 as well)
    SCANSLCT - "1"

How do i tell the DADF that the matter is Legal size and not some other size.

    Regards,

    Chetan

Thanks for reply. what should be the setting for model -sz and scanslct. Should I keep it at default. Default setting is 1 and 0 respectively.

      Thanks

Service mode setting Scan -SLCT > set to 1.

Also> Check in service mode that the Long Document Sensor for the DADF is changing state.
It's those two flags that LEGAL document sit down on tray
        surface..___see pic link.
If it is not changing state in Feeder I/O mode P5 bit 1 you can swap the sensor with the other Length sensor. If still no change of state it maybe your DADF Controller.

There is an option called 'Long Strip Original' that will automatically rotate the scanned originals during the scanning process when push scanning via Universal Send.
To enable the 'Long Strip Original' option, follow these steps:

          1. On the copier control panel, select the Send tab.

          2. Pull down the 'Scan Settings' drop down menu and select 'Option'.

          3. Press the 'Document Size Select' button on the resulting Scan Settings screen.

          4. Press the 'Long Strip Original' button. The size will automatically switch to 'Auto'. The feature is enabled when the option is highlighted in blue.

          5. Press 'Done'.

          6. Press 'OK'.

          7. Select your destination and send the job by pressing the Start key.

          8. The resulting image will be automatically rotated.

          * Note - Be sure to load your originals with the bottom short edge going into the feeder. If you load your originals the other way, the resulting image will be portrait but upside down.

          Correct loading orientation:

          * There is no 'Long Strip Original' sensor to detect long paper on the iR105+/105/9070/8500, but there is on the iR8070/7200. Unfortunately, there are no plans to add this function to the iR105+/105/9070/8500.

          * Duplexing (scanning 2-sided originals) is not supported when using the 'Long Strip Original' option.

Thanks techkat. Are you talking about Feeder> Try-A4, Try-A5?

I had read in your earlier post about Long Strip originals. Don't want to adopt it since duplexing would not work. Also I saw color scanning in long strip original setting is not possible. Only B/W scanning works

Probably not, but doing try a4 or whatever paper size you use will not do any harm and may fix it.
