    IRAC2025 clicking noise from fuser

    Hi all
I have a customer with a IRAC2025i. On start up there is a very loud clicking noise from the fuser unit.
It sounds like the fuser drive gears are jumping. On inspection I noticed the plastic frame that secures the drive gear on the fuser was cracked. After putting in a new fuser unit found that the gears are still jumping. Now I think that the jumping has caused the cracking of the plastic frame. Can't see any wear on the drive gear on the machine side. Have cleaned all the grease off as there seems to be a lot of it.
    Any ideas out there.

    Common issue
    Fuser drive assy needs replacing
Absolute bitch of a job as you need to rip half the machine apart to access

        Hmmm as I thought.
Have already ordered the drive assembly and waiting for it to come in.
Not looking forward to this job.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts with the replies guys.

Doesn't look that bad to me... replacing the main drive unit is a lot worse...
