    New c5540 machne

    Hi guys
Well we got one of the new range, been in a couple of months and after a couple of weeks got E013-0002-05
rotation of the waste toner feed motor error! Another tech went 1st time not 100% sure what he did but said he cleaned a sensor? I reset code updated firmware and ran the motor (26) in service mode and well I couldnt fault it. Anyone had this on such a new model yet?
Going back going to check in the morning and remove the waste tube and vac out if needed.

Thanks in advance for any info. As usual I will post any fix I find.

    Check parts catalog for sensor

Figure 771 - WASTE TONER DRIVE DETECT ASS'Y

Note, waste toner drive motor is M45.

Remove waste bottle shine light into cavity, look at rear sensor and switch should be visible. Toner spilled?
You remove entire assembly from rear. Take a spare waste bottle.

      Hi Randall, again lol!
The error code relates to the waste drive for the drums at the front and the motor is M26.

Went there 1st thing this morning, removed the motor and manually turned the augers for the waste unit, took the drive gear off the motor and then turned the worm gear on the motor, I marked the motor shart as so flipping small hard to see and that is turning so the worm gear seems to be doing its job.
tricked the door switch and cover off watched the motor running as it should and so far no call back today so a possible reult?

Fyi for anyone, canon tech found a couple of mentions of this and they were

the connector for the motor was not plugged in properly from manufacture
the cable tie on the motor harness was too tight causing breakage in the wire and intermittent fault.

      hope that helps someone.

      cheers

        Ok Guys
this what I found, after it coming back in this morning I looked at the wiring harness that Canon suggested.
too do that I removed all the drums and found that the yellow chute going to the waste augers was stuffed with toner the rest were clear.
poked the toner down as I rotaed the augers (after removing the motor) and checked the drum.
the drive gear at the rear of the drum for the waste drive was hansing off and the waste drive was so.id.
I vaccumed out what I could and ordered a new drum.

I also moved the yellow drum to cyan to give it more chance to clear the toner until new drum is fitted.

Hope this helps and if it dosent fix it once the drum is replaced I will repost.

          Well im back
Went to fit the new drum and found that the one I had swapped over to yellow was the same as the original and the hopper was clogged up.

what I noticed after removing the yellow drum was the chute that leads down from the drum cleaning unit to the waste bottle was clogged! Missed it last time so I poked that down and checked wtb there was a pile at the opening, I ran motor on 20 and found it all clogged up again and the pile was still there.

The coupling/paddle on the end of the wtb auger at the back was missing da daaa thats the problem no drive to the augers to clear the toner from the front!

          Hope this helps you guys.
