    IR 3235 horrendous quality

So, one guy here at the shop was supposed to just replace the fuser film on this unit, is the one we have for testing. After he reaseembled the fixing unit, quality of prints and copies is just awfull.

Checked the unit myself and everything looks normal, machine doesnt give any error at all, it looks like something electrical to me but the grounding wires look ok.

    Any idea?

looks like the pressure of the fuser isn't correct. When the tech takes apart the fuser there are is some racking gears that releases the pressure on the fuser when the door is open. Now when you rebuild the fuser the gears can be misaligned. Because the fixing film is driven by the lower roller. If this is the case the fixing film lacks drive and can cause this issue.

Basically you don't have to rebuild the fuser again just realign the gears. Believe its 3 screws on the to remove the plate.

You mean the beige gear that secures the fuser to the frame when you mount it? the one that looks like a jaw?

No this part there's a white rack that needs to be fitted.

After what have been said, the most logical choice is the film is not working right....

            1. Set fix temp to 1 or 2 ....2. Use fuser oil ( silicon oil ) not grease

Just to put an end to this thread, tried doing a full restore on the machine and issue persisted, then i decided to purge the machine of old toner, vacuum cleaned fixing units, manually added toner to developer unit and problem was gone.

                Like said IndoCE :
Better lubricate fuser film - much more silicon oil. This is normal issue in this model if you rebuild fixing ass'y.

Yeah, its deffinitely a problem with this fixing unit, i did a test just yesterday with another one and prints were perfect, then tried the first one and problem came back, replacing pressure roller didnt work, ill clean the heating lamp and put more grease on it, lets see if that makes the trick.

That definitely looks like the element was greased properly. What did you use? The best grease is uniflor 8172
