It's the itb home position sensor.
Need to remove the itb assembly and look for a torn or slipping transfer belt.
Also the roller support arms break on a regular basis which causes the belt to lose tension.

Transfer belt assy. Sits above the drum, normally it gets torn ot tension arms break that keep it tight. Also had issues with white home position patches getting dirty.

same with me guys thank you lets me try. but can anybody have the manual of this machine because i want to read how to assemble this machine please help!
I've one IR3180ci. It had it's ITB torn apart. I took it out and replaced with a brand new belt.
I did not use Service Mode (I am not sure if I was suppposed to do any thing on the Service Mode).
Now the belt is on but I get the E000070-02 or E000070-01 error. The 2 page instructions with the ITB stated to perform some key presses in Service Mode, which I did but I always get the NG! Error on Service Mode. The machine turns on, the ITB and the ink rotats, while the screen shows "Printer Warming up" message and then after 1-2 minutes I get the error.
Can you please help.
Both white patchs on ITB inner side are on correct side and they are clean. (I took it out after assembeling it when I found the error could be because of the white patches get dirty).
The ITB home position sensor has a plastic cover part 16 in picture that sits above the belt, has this been
fitted correctly?

Thanks for this hint. My belt was on top of this plastic bit. I've fixed it as it should be on top of the belt.
But I am still getting an error code e000070-0003 on startup. Any clue?
E070 ITB HP detection error
0001 HP of the ITB fails to be detected even
after the specific period of time.
Abnormality of the HP sensor,
Deviation of the belt from its position to
either edge, or soiling of the seal
Clean the HP detection seal, Clean/Replace the HP
sensor
0002 The next HP fails to be detected within
the specific period of time after the HP

Clean the ITB back side and the drive roller
0003 The next HP is detected earlier than the
specific period of time after the HP of
the ITB is detected.
The ITB is torn due to scratches, and the
sensor detects the tear as a HP by
mistake.

Hi,
I've changed the placement of this bit [part no. 16].
Now I get error code E000070-0003. Any clue please? I've installed a brand new ITB and it's all neat and clean. Thanks
