    Inner Finisher F-1

Having problems with this finisher on an IRADVC2230. The tray does not go to the home position. Tried a different

tray assembly but it didn't change anything. It was received with the stapler and gripper unit off track. I got those straightened

out. It will output paper and even staple okay. but the tray goes to the bottom and never comes back up. I made sure the

the upper limit switch was functioning properly. Any ideas?

It may be the sensor on the tray. I have had two issues with them. Make sure it is locked in and not one side up. Does it give an error code? The wire harness also can go bad. Usually the top tray but have had to replace bottom tray on a 2870 (this tray would not move correctly). Same kind of symptom. Noticed there was a spring broken and new tray had a screw locking the gear where the spring was. Right at the worm gear drive. If you have another tray to try I would suggest that.

I had tried that with a known working tray and no luck. It's weird that it will go down but not up. Have had inner finishers for

years and never seen one do this.

That is strange. My issues have always been in the tray somewhere (sensor, motor, gear, wire harness). I have not had an issue with the board in them yet.

I started to reseat the connectors on the control board and discovered a damaged connector with a broken wire. The connector

for the tray. All makes sense now except how it got damaged. Anyways, good to go now. Thanks for your suggestions!!
