Canon ImagePress C9000VP Main Unit Only

Does anyone know if the Canon ImagePress C9000VP can be used with just the main unit? Or does it need the POD and high capacity stacker components as well?

Every time I see these presses they almost always come with the POD and stacker included but I wonder if I can just use the main unit alone.

Thank you for clearing my doubts. I suspected this system could run without the A1 pod, but needed some accesory at the output end.
