      reload the system software

      u need to have firmware for MF6550 registered in SST

      The following parts of this unit can be upgraded by executing download mode using the service support tool (SST)
      Main unit
      - Flash ROM (system + boot) mounted on the image processor PCB
      - ROM mounted on the PCL board

          imageCLASS machine software not available in the US. You're limited to replacing the image processor PCB to clear "Download Standby".

                  1.) Re-seat the ROM
                  2.) Replace the ROM
                  3.) Replace/repair the main controller. (NWRS is the only APR that handles the imageCLASS boards)

                          funny thing is US MF6500/6550 manual demos on loading firmware with SST , Select "MFP" in "Target Selection", and then select "E243" (registered from system CD) in "Model List".

                          but none is available , as is no part # for Rom on this 6550
