    C5035 E732-0001

    Hi all,

Am brand new to the site so go easy on me please!
I'm currently working for a Canon dealership in Wellington NZ.

I have a customer with an iR ADVC5035 and randomly most mornings they are getting an error E732-0001. It happens when the first print job of the day is sent, and once the machine is restarted it doesn't occur again until the next morning or sometimes a couple of days later. On one occasion there was an E733-0001.

I have been through the service manual and have utilised all other avenues available from Canon and all I know is that the 732 code is a communications error between the reader controller PCB and main controller 2 PCB.

In my experience with this model, I've never known a faulty main controller to cause anything but the dreaded black screen of death so am not entirely convinced that is the issue. Today I replaced the reader controller PCB but obviously won't know if that's worked until the next couple of mornings present no errors.

This machine has had no issues at all in the last few months and there are no other alarms/jams/errors in the history.

Any experts out there experienced this before?

    Cheers

Reseat all cables, ribbon cables to reader controller and where they connect on Main controller. I have seen wires pinched under reader frame also..

Had same issue and reseating the Main Controllers 1 and 2 cleared it up.

Hey, thanks everyone for your help. Sorry for delay in response.

Since I changed the reader controller PCB, the error has not come back. That was a week ago now.
Hopefully that will be the end of it. If not, I'll be sure to try all suggestions.

          Thanks again guys!

Thank you to all for your replies and help.
The machine started giving the same error again after replacing main controller 2. I even formatted the HDD and re-installed all system software.
As i started grasping at straws I noticed the machine's main power was plugged into a "circuit breaker" type multibox. Nothing else was plugged into the box but it was "piggy backing" another multibox at the wall plug.

I ran an extension lead from another power point to give it it's own power source and viola!! Code gone and one happy customer.
