    AdvC5240 jam 0213

Customer has periodic jams on Advance C5240, code is 0213 which says vertical path sensor, but they can run 1,000 copies without issue then it may jam every 10 or so copies, same code everytime.

    Hiya,

I would check the quality of the paper. Take out a ream and have a look. Different shades of white indicate different quality paper.

I presume you have changed the actual pick up roller.

      what have you done?

suggest doing a good cleaning of all rollers ..blow out the sensors.. make sure they are moving properly... kinda hard to say since you have told us what you have tried.

        collection of paper dust

        Clean the copier
You should clean the dust from both the inside and outside of the machine when you complete routine copier maintenance.

        Avoid cheap paper
When paper gets dusty or has moisture build up, a copier is more susceptible to jams.

Companies selling paper that’s “99% jam free” are making a false promise.

        recommend
        • 20# weight and 85-90 brightness for black & white copies.
        • 24-28# weight with 90 or higher brightness for color copies.

Brightness is a measure of the amount of light, of a specific wavelength,a sheet reflects. The more light it reflects, the higher the brightness.
Brightness, to a large extent, dictates the cost of the sheet, but has norelationship with functionality. Brightness has no bearing on Performancebut does have a significant impact on image quality.

High-brightnesspapers give more contrast, allowing colors to stand out; low brightnesspapers are easier on the eyes for periods of extended viewing or reading.
Higher brightness papers do not necessarily perform better in your digitalprinting system but add value to your print jobs.
Adequate paperbrightness enhances the contrast between the paper and the image, thusimproving readability. Brightness is especially important for color printingto ensure images are vivid.
