    [Jamming] humidity

    hi guys n girls,

went to visit a customer , 2.5 hours away, has an iradv4225 with booklet finisher G1. This machine never causes an issue, but since the very muggy weather has came, it has had 3 calls in the last 8 weeks, which is very unusual. The machine only jams on booklet mode with A3, but no specific jam codes, due to the fact that it will register a jam almost anywhere it get stuck, but no constant jam code to point me in a certain area. 3 Weeks ago, i used a fresh ream of A3 and no jams at all, i advised the customer that it looks as if this was the issue but they called it back in. When i arrived i checked the humidity of the machine and it was about 58% with absoulte humidity at 10.3g. I put a fresh ream in and it jammed. I checked the machine over, found no issue as such , set the machine to recycled and she fired out the booklets no probs.

Questions are, when selecting recycled instead of plain paper, what specifically changes, is it the type of charge put on the paper or does the machine do something else? Secondly, how do you guys deal with hot , muggy damp weather with high humidity, is there an environment sensor like on some of the older machines ?

    tks MT

paper is like a sponge.. it will soak up dampness in a heart beat. Not sure if that machine has tray heaters in it ( most times an option) my suggestion.. have them turn up the AC to remove moisture from the room. Reduce the amount of paper in the tray ( or remove and store in a ziplock bag until ready to use) In the old days I would tell the customer to place the paper on top of their computer monitor ( old CRT style ) to dry the paper out.
