    IR2270 printing blanks on PDF

    Hi all

    Hope someone can throw some light on a strange issue.

    I've a customer who has an IR2270 which they print PDF tax returns from. The PDFs are generated from a software package they use.

    The machine will print fine until they attempt to print a PDF generated from this software then it'll print a few pages fine but half way through a document will
    print blanks from a certain point onwards. From then on the machine will only print blanks. To make it work OK again cycle the power switch and it will be ok until the next PDF they try to print.

    I've tried replacing the UFR (II) driver and new firmware on the machine. Both no better.

    Any one one shed any light please??

      Does the same PDF print OK on another printer?

      If so, it could be that the version of PDF is too new for the 2270 to handle.

      That machine is a total dinosaur; I'm surprised it's still printing at all.

          Many thanks.

          Sorted.

          Was as an issue with adobe DC. File, Print, Advanced and tick 'print as image'

          Works fine now.

          2270 is old but a great machine. Still the same family of machine available new today as well.

          Thanks and you've gotta feel sorry for the poor chap that first discovered this PDF issue!

              added note:

              Another reason for the printout being blank may be that, occasionally, a document is scanned and made into a .pdf file as a graphic, even though it appears as text.
              To print this sort of document, you should click the "Advanced" button on the print dialogue box then choose "Print as Image".
              **Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
