code indicates a communication error with the printer at startup

check/ replace flash dimm on the dc controller
Try an Error Clear in Service Mode and power cycle the machine.
Check the ribbon cable between J301 on the DC Controller and J1029 on the Main Controller. Make sure that this ribbon cable is seated properly.

Make sure that the DC Controller has proper regulated voltage at J320 and J319. At J320 the voltages should be (pin1) 13VDC, (pin2) 5VDC, (pin5) 3VDC, and (pins 3 and 4) are 0VDC. At J319 the voltages should be, (pin 1 and 3) 24VDC, and (pin 2 and 4) ) 0VDC.
