Canon IRC AD 5250 scanning problem

Remove a Canon IRC 5035 from office and replaced with a IRC 5250, transferred address book and such, configured like the 5035 and downloaded drivers for 5250, can print, scan to e-mail but cannot scan to file, says "sending" "re sending" "check server", no send. What was missed?

Did you change the smtp port in service mode lvl2?

Check that the password for scanning to folder was transferred also, sometimes it doesn't transfer

Did not change port number in service mode 2, and we did not set passwords for that. Thank You for the help. Will check/change port number.

Check the send log and details of failed ones, what is the error code it will help you identify what may be happening?
also try browsing to the folder from the machine, might just need reentering in address book as a contact?

Check DNS settings as I think that can stop you connecting to a pc? Not my strongest area this but hope any of this helps.

The SMTP port number only affects Scan to email. DNS settings will usually only affect scan to email as well. Local name resolution is typically performed by netbios broadcasts.
When you export the address book on a 5035 there is no option in encrypt the address book with a password. Without a password, the passwords for your scan to folder destinations are not transferred. The reason for this is ; without encryption the passwords would be exported as plain text, which would be a security problem.

So you need to re set the passwords for each of your address destinations

I once had exactly this situation. Turned out the IT dept had to update the server with the new mac address (all IP addresses for the device and mail server were the same as before) and I expected it to go smooth. Not sure exactly how they had the server configured, but they had some kind of security that required the mac address to be entered.
