accessing network menu on canon ir C7075

    Hi.

I have just got a new to me canon ir c7075 and the IP address seems to have been set to a static address which I need to change. The problem is that all the options within the network menu are greyed out and not accessable. I have also tried to enter the service menu thinking that it would need elevated privilidges to access but I can't get into that either *28* just beeps at me.

Is there anything I can try to access the network menu please.

    Thanks
    Chris

Thanks. No go on that I am afraid.

if I press the blue login button on the settings screen nothing happens at all - it bleeps but no prompts show up asking for a password.

Is there a magic reset button that I can reset it back to basics?

      Thanks

when you can't get in service mode try to restart mfp and try again, then go into sm and choose Copier/function/clear/pwd/ok
after restart you should get into user settings

          Ok.

I will try again. Just so I know I am doing this in the right place... where should I be entering the s/m password?

          Thanks

Ah, well I am back to the beginning then as I cant access the webbrowser as it doesn't have a valid ip address yet!

              Thanks

Re: accessing network menu on canon ir C7075

Sorry, maybe I have misunderstood. I am looking at the printer now and I am in the same room as the printer.

Its connected to the local network but has a static ip address of 10.255.255.2 and I need it to be 192.168.1.xxx - which means I can't reach it via the network.

The network settings are all locked out and I cant seem to access the service menu/administer menu to access them.

Pressing the blue login button does nothing other than beep

keying the s/m code in via the keypad does nothing other than beep

powering down the machine and restarting it does nothing to enable me to access the menu's

I realise that I am doing something silly and that its a simple process to access the admin menus but I can't see it.

Can you tell me which screen I need to be on to be able to enter the password for the service menu.

                  Thanks
                  Chris

                    Ok.

Thinking that I needed to be on the same network as the printer I have connected the printer to a spare router and set the ip address of the router to the same range as the printer and basically copied everything from the printer into the router. I have connected a computer to the router and that has been assigned a Ipaddress in the same 10.255.255.x range as the printer so everything as far as I can see is correct yet I still cant get to the printer via the ipadress. it doesn't respond to pings either so clearly I have missed a step.

Can anyone help with either accessing the service menu on the printer - with an idiot guide to the button presses or help with the network so that I am able to access the web interface and then reset the password in there.

                    Thanks
                    Chris

Go into service mode , then copier, function, clear, look for pwd clear, highlight, then press OK, then reboot printer, that will get rid of the blue login button.
Then when it reboots, settings/registration, preferences, network, TCP/IP and input whatever address you want, but must reboot again.
                      Good luck

                        Hi.

Yep. Now all connected to the network and printing ok- however I now have another colour problem so I will start a new thread.

                        Cheers

The fact that you had a static IP of 10.255.255.2 is not a coinincidence.

That IP means the machine was set to have a Fiery attached. (The Fiery has a static address of 10.255.255.1, and it communicates to the copier over a crossover cable.)
