[Jamming] Buffer Pass Unit not rolling

My shop purchased a used IR Adv c5051 copier with finishing unit. It's got a high copy count but has been working ok. We recently rearranged the office and moved this unit to a different location, rolling it across smooth concrete floors. When I got the machine set up again and leveled, it started jamming in the buffer pass unit. After experimenting with the machine, it seems that the rollers in the buffer pass aren't activating. The paper keeps getting jammed at the first roller set every time.

Obviously, something went wrong in the move, but I can't figure out what. We rolled the machine on its own casters about 40 feet to its new location over a smooth floor. Much smoother than when we first brought it in the building, so I don't see how it could have been damaged.

    Thoughts?

did u check the Buffer Connection to main unit

Yes, I checked the connection. Removed and reconnected the entire unit. No change.

As an experiment, I tried making a copy with the unit out but still connected to try observing the rollers. Nothing happened in the buffer unit. Otherwise, the page copied fine. Not sure if this was due to a problem with the buffer or if it wouldn't run because it was not set in position. But I didn't see any switch that would deactivate the unit so long as the cable was connected.

Pull the buffer pass out and make sure that the actuator/sensor did not pop out. Actuator will be sticking up. Make sure delivery sensor/actuator didn't pop out either.

Does the finisher initialize when you reboot the copier?

Re: Buffer Pass Unit not rolling

We tried replacing the buffer pass unit with a new OEM part, as this was the part giving us trouble. Figured it may have worn out or something. After replacing the unit, it still has the same issue.

It appears that the buffer pass is not getting power or something, as the rollers don't move. The paper jams at the first set of rollers every time. Sometimes it registers as a jam on the right side of the machine, other times it doesn't register a jam at all. Every time it's blocked in the buffer pass.

I've included a picture of the jam location and recent jam codes.

The Bufferpass G1 rollers are not turning.

Check the feed roller shaft and bushing for a bind.

To resolve the issue, replace the Shaft (FC5-1043-020) and Bushing (FS5-1943-000).

check and see if the drive belt has fallen off, I recall seeing a tech pub on that recently.

No. It doesn't respond to the buffer lid being opened/closed. I've been suspecting that for some reason it's not supplying power to the buffer pass.

If I remove the buffer pass completely, the main unit will still function, so I don't think it's a drive belt. The only connection to the actual buffer pass is a cable, and I'm starting to believe that it's not supplying power to the buffer anymore.

                          Simple checks,
did u check the Printer side cable connection for 24v output voltage supply to buffer end connection ????

DC pcb--J126 Pin 2-24v ---make sure the connector is in place on controller board
did u check the buffer connector cable (interior back end connection inside buffer unit)

I meant the drive belt in the buffer pass itself. break out your meter and do the checks Teckat has suggested
