pick up unit problem in IR 2270

    Dear all,
I have problem in pickup unit cassette 1 in IR2270. Jamming occurs after registration and the entrance to the heater unit,
I solved this problem always by changing the pick up unit cassette 1 to new one, but now this unit discontinued, so please can you help me to repair this unit. I didn't noticed any fault in mechanics in it.

    Regards

    Hi Mido!

    First check for jam code.
    Remove all sticky foam dumpers.
Open new set of fresh dry paper.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

      Thanks for your reply.
I removed them all and changed the paper , but the cassette 2 and bypass tray work correctly. no jamming occurs,

        Did you check jam code?
Probably machine don't have modified lower , inside door and feed roller.(the vertical path) Must be grey and not black.

You can check on the pickup unit there is a solenoid when if you depress it it sticks on the foam pad. You can remove the foam pad but you must replace it with something. I use 2 sided foam tape but dont peel off the paper on the side that contacts the solenoid plate that moves. If you just remove the sticking foam without replacing it you will still have problems because the spacing doesnt allow the solenoid to work correctly. Also for machines with high copies over 500k the sensor flag becomes worn i replace with a new style one that has metal on it see pictures.
