[Misc] a 'quick' firmware naming question

I was at a customer having a IRc2020... After changing the ITB (181%) i needed to do a Firmwareupdate (New ITB Type F555).
But it offered me a firmware starting with a whole lot of numbers, but ending with JP_US...

I wasn't realy having a good day, so I got a bit scared seeing the JP in the name. Not sure if the JP_US meant it was japanese and/or English (US) and NOT wanting to explain why their Copyier 'suddely' was in japanese I decided to pospone the upgrade until i asked you guys...

So is xxxxxxxx.JP_US a firmware in japanese or did I just make a fool of myself overhere thinking is was ?

That was funny! I think you may have been right. This was in my irca2030 folder "SYSTEM_4601-JEFIGS-DCON_6705". I think you can have several versions in the folder. The folder name should be IAC2030 on the usb and then a folder inside it. There are files inside the SYSTEM_4601-JEFIGS-DCON_6705 folder.

Glad I didn't update then, that would have really ruined my day

But that file was offered in 'service menu'-> 'Updater'
I really tought that would give me the latest and correct firmware... I had the option to scroll down through a list of ad. languages, but there was no 'English'...

It seems like that is only 6 months or so old. You have a box with different languages but I use the drop down list to update (above the different language box.) Maybe you should update USB if you have access to that.

I found some firmware to d/l :
SST v47.01.01 - iR-ADV C2030 Series MN-CONT Ver.47.01

It gave me a file named 20170810iAC2030v470101USJP20170630.0470101.zip containing just a bunch of .NLF files...

downloading iR-ADV C2030 Series MN-CONT Ver.46.01 gave me a file named 20151026iAC2030v460101USJP20150928.0460101.zip also containing .NLF files.

Looks the same as the filename offered in the updater in the servicemenu...

I use usb 80% of the time because I think it is faster. If it were me I would go ahead and download what the latest updater was. Or install with sst if that is easier for you.
