[Misc] Move booklet trimmer from one Imagepress to another....

We have two Canon Image press ( C6000VP and C7000VP) and the 7000 now start do mess a lot for us, so we now like to move a booklet trimmer and two knife unit from the 7000 to the 6000 unit!
Is there anything that have to be change in the set up on the imagepress meny or RIP to do that ??

Check Required to use with the Fore-edge Booklet Trimmer
Check that software of the following machines support two-knife booklet trimmer-A1.
• Printer
• Finisher
• Fore-edge Booklet Trimmer
If the combination of software version is not correct, all the machines cannot be booted correctly.




The C6000 firmware files you have downloaded for registration into service support tool, inside it's folder are the executable firmware data files for both the trimmer C1 and the 2knife trimmer are created.
These files are not registered in service support tool with other files.
They are located in Printers Firmware Folder see example pic

To make it simple ... can we take the booklet trimmer and twoway knife from the 7000 to the 6000
or is there something (firmware)that have to be changed in the 6000 ...??

from 7000 to 6000= Yes u Can

Firmware Support for Trimmer and Knife was automatically included in original production.

If u need to update firmware for printer and/or Trimmer and Knife ---u update Printer first, then follow Trimmer and Knife procedures .
That way u have matching versions.

what is your C6000 firmware ver-----
Service Mode>COPIER> DISPLAY> VERSION

How to Print a Copy Service Report, or Firmware Version, or P-Print?
Field Remedy
1) Go into Service Mode.
2) Hit Function.
3) Hit Misc-P.
4) Hit P-Print.
5) Hit OK.

Push the Counter Check button on the control panel, select Device Configuration and Arrow down to Options, here is where the Two Knife Booklet Trimmer will be displayed if detected.

Did u do this

To enable the detection of the Two Knife Booklet Trimmer-A1:

Loosen two screws [1] and remove two screws [2] and remove the connector cover [3] of the upstream Booklet Trimmer.
Press the "SYS" button on the Service Maintenance Panel to display "S03".



Turn OFF then ON the Finisher power switch and Restart the Marking Engine. The Two Knife Booklet Trimmer-A1 should now be detected.

Have now swop the trimmer and two-way knife to the C6000 and it works just fine !!
Have to move also the booklet trimmer. The one on the C6000 did have different firmway, so it did not work .

Can we also move a B1 Perfekt Binder from C7000 to C6000 the same way, or is there some other software /firmware necessary for that

Have now ad the perfect binder to the C6000 and
asign the unit in the setup menu and all is working !!
