Canon iR105 finisher tray B keeps on lowering when printing or copying

Good Day, I am a noob technician on copier machines, can you please help me troubleshoot my problem a Canon iR105 copier machine, When i print, the finisher tray "B" lowers down automatically, even if i pull it up, it will go back down when i print or make copies. I have tried replacing the motor, sensors, almost everything that is inside the tray B from our other working canon iR105 machines so i can troubleshoot. still no luck, what is the problem. Please help.

If you let the tray go down does it attempt to come back up, or does it throw an error code?

No sir, It stays down, if i pull it up after a few seconds it will slowly go down. but if the machine is in idle and i pull it up, it stays up. there in no error showing.
It only goes down when i'm printing or copying files.

could be a variety of things.. lift belts are wacked.. lift motor not working .. lift sensor not working.. get the manual and go thru the suggested steps.

I hope you don't have "limited function" on display.

Like Phil say use SM and check switches on finisher controller.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Have you tried swapping the entire tray b? Finisher controller? I think I have seen this with a assembly inside the tray, try swapping tray b with another one, see if the problem stays, then the finisher or controller, if problem gone it is the tray.

We are not using the other modes sir, only the tray is on, same settings from all the machines, there is also no "limited function" on the display.

I would want to try that also, but as i said, i am a newbie copier technician, I'm only a certified computer technician and has experience only in repairing laptops. I tried removing the tray "b" but i cant find any instruction on the manual and google on how to remove it. can you give me a small hint on how to remove it sir? TIA.

Thank you for your reply sir, I'm slowly learning, here is the result after setting the switch according to the manual that you sent. it shows "F" after i set the switch, i havent even pressed the SW976, i tried pressing SW976 and no response just the "F" flickering on and off. I also tried pressing the buttons SW974 and SW975 but still no response. I already tried swapping the tray B sensor located in the middle of the tray from one of our machines, but no luck.

You might be looking at a needing a Finisher Controller. Part # FG3-1875-060.

There are a set of sensors that look across the surface of the tray..when the paper stack gets higher, it detects this and tray drops fractionally to adjust. The transmitters are on one side and the receivers are on the other. They are level with the process tray(tray that stacks and offsets before ejecting stack out). Blow them out. Also on the tray itself there is a circuit board that has photo interrupts on it. There are cut outs in the rail...these photo interrupts look for the cut out to know the tray's position. The screw that mounts the board comes loose. Blow out the sensors also...The F means your sensors are not initializing...focus on the sensors that look across the tray
