    Compatible toner issue

I have a canon imageclass LBP253dw we have an aftermarket MICR toner and I am getting the error (Cart. communication error. Use of non-Canon cartridges is not covered by the warranty.)

I have spoke with the manufacturer of the toner and they spoke of a block on the printer that could be removed to allow the compatible cartridge be used and show the proper toner levels.
He would not tell me how to do it.
Does any one have any experience with doing this any help would be greatly appreciated even a push in the right direction.

I had a Canon 650 fax repeatable error code for drums that also had toner. I think it is the chip the canon reads. Do not know how to fix that. We just charged them for a drum which was a mess as another company was providing the drum. I have not seen that customer in a while. Best thing is for you to force the manufacturer of the toner to find the fix by threating them to not buy from them. It used to be they patented the toner bottle but they must have found a way around that. We were bought by a large company who uses after market stuff. We used to only use oem parts and supplies and was one of the things I asked when I applied for the job. Makes my job more difficult.

I do little effort to solve CQ issues if the customers use Non-OEM toner.
I clean, do color correction and full gradation. if issue remains -> Try using OEM toner first before I do or replace things that cost more money then you save by using Non-OEM !

In my opinion, the best thing you can do now is buy original toners and stick to them..i tried many non OEM toners and cartridges before and got bad results and cq issues, and also decreased drum life.. specialy on color copiers/printers.
Also many machine manufactures are installing software to block non OEM toners now.
