canon c250if greyed out issue

the counter report print is greyed out... and fax is not working properly...
I know initialization is one option...

but I remember that there is another option...
I am hazy on it...
you go into service mode... change a switch setting... install firmware...
reboot... then change key setting back... reboot...

nothing as in data not lost but greyed out counter print is gone...

I am hazy on what switch I flip in service mode...

clear partition 5 on this model... thats the image data storage area... the partition number may be different on different models of copiers... it clears the data on that partition without killing the data on the rest of the machine...
