Canon booklet finisher J1, issue with saddle stapling unit

    Hey guys,

Been having pretty bad luck with my IR 5235 lately. Current error: 021f8f
One of the saddle stapling units constantly jams up. Every other booklet. Mind you all this printer does (90%) is booklets with glossy hammermill paper.
I believe the part number is: FL2-0846-000 although on the actual part it is a different number.
I switched out the two units and same one keeps jamming. After I manually remove the jammed staple the finisher might do couple booklets before it jams again.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

On a couple of machines that did a heavy load of saddle stitching the one of the staplers had to be replaced. Sounds like the issue here.

      Thanks Roho,

Looks like it. replacement is on the way. This machine Canon IR5235 with J1 finisher does only booklets on glossy hammermill paper. It was purchased brand new. At around 160,000 copies (most colored) all color drums went bad, now the stapler. Yellow developer and transfer cleaning unit were replaced too. Hopefully it will give me a break on replacing more parts after this one.

      Thanks!

      D.

where did you find this part? Did you have a service manual by chance?
