    Canon c1 and transparencys

Just had a customer ask if i would print on 11x17 or 12x18 transparency - suprised me to find that it won't allow that option and setting the bypass for regular stock causes it to jam because ? Not being seen by sensors? - has anyone seen a fix/an around or a fake out to get transparencies to run?

      Thanks for the quick reply-
The transparencies I normally run on the C1 have no white strip - I would only speculate that the machine somewhere setting wise is set to only run letter size transparencies - Letter R will not feed either - the 11x17 sheet stops just prior to the fuser rollers input side (over the mechanical sensor) with the tail just clearing the registration roller - it would seem that the OHT sensor (PS6?) senses that the transparency fed is longer than 8.5 inches - can the machine be set or changed in service mode to lengthen or change this aspect? - I find a jam code of OD90 08 which looks like the OHT sensor is reporting a sheet length out of specs (ie 11x17 instead of 8.5x11) can we change the expected sheet length? It appears grayed out when I use the bypass paper set up screen.

        C1
        Special paper= Transparency sizes listed
        cassette or manual feeder
        A4, or LTR

0D90 transparency sensor (front, rear) PS3, PS29 when the mode is transparency mode
0D92 medium mismatch (paper instead of transparency)
0D93 medium mismatch (transparency instead of paper)

        Common Settings

        Stack Bypass
        Standard Settings---On, Off*---*is default setting

When printing on special types of paper, such as heavy paper or transparencies, be sure to correctly set the paper type, especially if you are using heavy paper. If the type of
paper is not set correctly, it could adversely affect the quality of the image. Moreover, the
fixing unit may become dirty and require a service repair, or the paper could jam.

When scanning the following originals, you cannot use the Automatic Paper Selection
        mode.
Use the Manual Paper Selection mode when scanning these types of originals:
        - Highly transparent originals, such as transparencies
        - Originals with an extremely dark background
        • For high-quality printouts, use paper recommended by Canon.

        NOTE
If the paper size you are going to load into the stack bypass is different from the paper size stored in Stack Bypass Standard Settings, set Stack Bypass Standard
Settings to 'Off' in Common Settings (from the Additional Functions screen).

[Transparency] can be selected only if [LTR] is selected as the paper size.

          Great!
Thats what I needed confirmed - that only letter size transparency paper will run - any other size transparency is not an option and there are no internal changes or "arounds" that can be made - thanks again for the confirmation
