it is a pretty good machine... the only problem is the fuser... them made a new twin fixing belt for this machine and it is pricey.. canon is working on somw changes for the machine...

      irc 5180

If you are contemplating this at all for the price, then it would be greatly advised to see if you can get one with a service contract, it is a well worth machine to get

Can you wait a bit longer?

I hear there are some developpment coming for the C6501 which will allow for good envelops printing. The C6501 already does a better job at it than the C6500. Better the devil you know as they say.
Unless you have got a good Canon techie and a bad KM techie around.

having said that I haven't experienced the 5180 just the 4580 and it's a good machine but i don't see it in the same league as the Km..
What;s the volume you're looking at?

IMO I would stay away from the 5180. We have had ongoing issues with the fixing assy. In our experience, the "new" belt does no better than the old. Last couple times the belt split apart and took the ITB with it. No problem for the customer on a maint agreement - but $$$$ for us.

then don't buy the canon you will fight env.'s all day log. iR3220 is the older copier then the 5180 but a much better copier. I do not care for the 5180's at all. why do you want to leave the konica???? you are replacing graphics with biz color
