Canon 550 With Finisher Er code

Currently working on a Canon 550 that keeps producing a E532 error code. This error code pertains to the staple unit on the finisher. So far I've replaced the home position sensor, the stapler motor, and even the main control board in the finisher. E532 keeps coming up after resetting the error in sim each time. If I manualy move the staple unit to its home position, the copier will go to a ready to copy state and produse the error code after trying to make a copy. If I move the staple unit out of its home position, The error code comes up right away. Any help or comments would be greatly appericated.

Its the communication cable that runs from the finisher pcb into the staple unit. Had this a couple of times.
Oh...... I can't copy at the moment then ? !!!!!!

There are safety switches under the panel on the delivery side of the finisher(4 switches 2 sets of 2 on either side of the delivery opening) and one on top of the swing unit. These will cut the 24v commonly causing a 532. The switch on top of the swing unit is usually the cause. The wire going into the switch is likely broken. Remove the switch and pull the wire, one or both will come out (they shouldn't if it is good.) I recommend taking the switch out to do this, I have seen the wire stay in if it is still in the machine but it is broken. Repair or replace the safety harness and be sure that if you just repair it try to give it a little more slack.
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.
