    IPF8300 service mode

    Hi everybody,
I just replaced the purge unit in my IPF8300. I am trying to clear the purge counter. I started the machine up in service mode then went to the menu and went to service mode. Then I found my way to INITIALIZE. After that I don't know how to get to the PURGE section. When I got to the INITIALIZE the next thing was the word WARNING so I hit enter and I saw an equal sign come and go. Other than that I am stuck and need to clear the counter.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me.
    David

How to clear a parts counter on an iPF6300 / iPF8300

Boot the machine into service mode by holding down the Load and Navigate keys while powering on the printer. A small "s" will appear in the display letting you know service mode is available.
Use the Right Arrow > to the settings and adjust icon and select OK. Select service mode in the list and select OK.
From Display in service mode right arrow > to Initialize. Down arrow once to Warning and then right arrow > over to Parts Counter. Down arrow once and right arrow > over to select the counter you want to clear. Press the OK key.

To check to see if the counter cleared go back into service mode under Display and print the Print INF sheet. The INF print out will have a listing of all the counters and you can see the one that you cleared reset to 0.

          CLEARING THE COUNTER

WARNING: Initializing a counter without replacing the worn part, is an improper service operation and will lead to further extensive extended printer failure. Counters must be initialized after the replacement part is installed. There is no exception to this rule.
