Send to shared folder by SMB

Hi, all
I have 4 computers on my network with same os and settings. When I send to shared folders, only 2 PCs I can find out shared folder by inputing any username and leave password blank. Other 2 PCs always ask me usename and network password. But, I know I didn't setup any usename and network passwork on these 4 PCs. Any Idea would be appreciated. Thanks

I found out if I create a new user acount with password on the computer which was not working, I will be able to see the shared folder. So, I think something wrong with the user acount or Administrator's acount....??? I hope someone could give me a clear explaination. Thanks

Dear If you are using xp PRO there are several way )
right click on my computer , select manage , opening for you computer management , from the left side select Local Users and Groups the select users after that in your right side click on any user and select set password. leave the password filed blank,

now try from copier but user name only and keep password field blank,

Hi, thanks for reply. I tried to setup password for the account, it works but if I set password with blank, it doesn't work. I don't why?

You do not mention the OS of the computer if you have a P-2-P or domain. A common problem with AD on a MS Server 2003 domain is that although you may create a userid without a password, when accessing resources - a non-blank password is required.

What I normally do on a domain is create a user (say Superman) with admin rights, and give it a never expire password. Then anytime I need to save to a file on a workstation I just user Superman. Not a real security issue as I am the only one that knows the password. Saves having an updating hassle everytime someones password changes.

If it is not a domain, just create the folder in the Shared Folders.

Thank so much for your reply. It's really helpful. I have a question about "Scan to Email". I could not make it to work in our small office. We connect all PCs and IR 3320i to a router and using ISP for internet. From service manual I saw ms exchange server needed for scan to email function. I dont know it's true or not. Could you tell me what network environment needed to make scan to email work and which settings are reqired? Thanks in advance!
