    Hi,

Are you a Tech or user? Did you install new firmware? If answer is yes then try with "Initialize All Data/Settings"
    Practice makes perfect
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
A picture is worth a thousand words
If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself

      E315 -0540 JPEG decode error.

Description: This error occurs when images buffered in the HDD or memory were corrupted when performing image processing.
JPEG decode is used when handling color (or gray) images. Therefore, the error does not occur for normal copy or PDL print. But it may occur with SEND.

Try Holding down 2&4 while booting machine and see if the Box Checker comes up OK ??

The troubleshooting procedures as per the manual follow:

      1. Turn OFF and then ON the power. If it is not recovered or it occurs frequently, perform the following measures.
      2. Format the HDD. If it is not recovered, replace the HDD.
      3. Replace the memory on the Main Controller 2 (DDR2- SDRAM).
      4. Replace the Main Controller PCB 2.Troubleshooting in the book was followed.

However, please note, in this particular incident the procedures in the manual did not resolve the problem. Note the solution below.

      Solution :

      Cleared HDD sectors

      CHK-TYPE 6 is the APL_SEND sector.

In this case, the technician cleared sectors 20 thru 0 one at a time.
In SERVICE MODE > FUNCTION > SYSTEM > CHK TYPE to chose the sectors, then OK
      Highlight CLEAR then OK
Repeat and power cycle when finished.

Note : Clearing all HDD will erase image data. Mailbox data will also be erased.
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
