I have 3 ira 4245 machines that all receive very light faxes , The machines copy, print, scan and send faxes perfect no CQ problems. I have forwarded the incoming faxes to a folder and they print out perfect. All the firmware updates have been done. Even brought to machines into the shop and same problem. Installed a 4045 at customers location and it receives fax fine. I'm about to pull my hair out, any help will be appreciated.

Does sound like a software bug to be honest if it's happening on 3 different machines of the same model range.
Might be worth logging the fault with Canon support.
The only other idea I have is to print off a System Data List (SERVICE MODE > FAX > REPORT > DATA) which will have all the bitswitch settings.
Then compare it to another customers System Data List where the fax is working correctly, and see if you can spot anything.
