Canon ir adv C5035 fitted with one pass reader E280-0101-05. Have seen Error E320-0101-05. Relates to paper back. I have cleaned glass/white plate, re seated/checked connections on ribbon. replaced reader controller. Still no good any folks had this issue all help welcome.

E280, 0101 error code refers to the Scanner Unit in the ADF. The 0101 subcode is only on the C5045 and C5051 models with the Duplex Color Image Reader (One Pass ADF).
The Scanner Unit in the ADF connects directly to the Reader Controller PCB. Reseat the Flat Flex Cable Unit on both the Scanner Unit (ADF) side and the Reader Controller PCB.
If necessary, replace the Flex Flat Cable Unit (FM3-6213-000) that connects the Scanner Unit in the ADF to the Reader Controller PCB.
If the problem persists, then replace the Scanner Unit in the ADF (FM3-5490-010).

Thanks for your reply Teckat. Flat cable connections look good, have ordered replacement flat cable first, scan unit is expensive. fingers crossed it's the cable. will keep you updated.
