Imagerunner Advance 4245 Auto paper selection message for print jobs.

The customer reports that they get a message from the machine to select
the correct paper. All they do is select a tray and it takes off and prints.
But they have it all set for auto select. I went through the settings under
additional functions and set it to what I thought would fix the problem.
And it seemed to do that for just one person. Well another person
just started having the same problem.

Has anyone else seen this? My gut feel is a driver setting? I just sold this to them about
4-5 months ago. It seems odd that it would just now surface.

I'm going back Monday to try and find something.
Any suggestion welcome.

This probably doesn't apply,

If Paper Drawer Auto Selection On/Off] is set to 'On' for a paper source, depending on the paper type, automatic paper selection may not be performed.

Printing from PC
Note:
All paper types available on the machine are eligible for use with Automatic Paper Selection if they match the paper types specified on the printer driver.

I turned the paper size override to "on".
That seemed to take care of the auto selection concern. Now they don't have to walk in to the printer and select a tray.
Then one of the secretaries mentioned that she could not get collated sets while printing.
I changed one of the printers settings the output setting I set to collate. Then she selected collate and sent
the job over. It still did not collate that job.
I'm thinking the IT tech needs to reload the driver or use a different driver?
I'm not sure, I do not do IT work.
Is there another place to look? Or setting I need to change?

If sending collate jobs issue is from one persons desktop PC - there lies the issue

It started with the receptionist. It would request her to select a tray when hers was set to auto.
I made sure all the auto feeding was enabled. They are using LTR in three trays. I had to mark
one "custom" just for her.
Next one of the secretaries came up with the same problem. I changed the paper size override to on
and set tray one back to LTR. Now they could both just print to auto tray.
As I was leaving the receptionist said she was having trouble getting it collate this job.
So I changed the output to collate and made sure she changed hers to collate.
It still did not collate that file.
The office manager is going to get invovled next to see if she missed something. Then she said she would
call their IT guy.
I told her I would be happy to forward any info I get from this board.
I will double check to see if the finisher appears.

Is there a prefered driver for this machine?
