Canon IRA C5030i won't print with PS3 driver

    Hi everyone!
I'm trying to use one of my Canon C5030i with a PS3 driver and I just can't get it to work.
The driver package from Canon contains UFRII driver, PCL6 driver, PS3 driver, fax driver, and the Network Scan Gear software.
If I install the whole package my windows will show 4 printers in "Devices and Priners" (one for each driver).
The problem is that I can't print from the one with the PS3 driver. When I try to print a test page (or anything else), I can hear the printer starting like it's preparing to print, but nothing happens, no pages come out. It clearly takes the command (because I can hear it starting), but on pages come out.
From the other two (UFRII and PCL6) works just fine.
I need to use PS3 driver because I have to print some colors that won't print right with the other drivers.
I have tried this on 3 different computers with 3 diferent Canon C5030i printers. I believe that there's something wrong with the driver from Canon.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

PS: I have tried this also on the network and USB connection. Same thing happens.

    Hi!

Check if PS Kit available for printing.

Press the Counter Check button on the copier control panel.

Hit the Device Configuration button on the LCD screen.
    Practice makes perfect
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
A picture is worth a thousand words
If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself

Re: Canon IRA C5030i won't print with PS3 driver

      Under "Device Configuration"->"Option" I have:
      - Color Image Reader Unit-B1
      - Cassette Feeding Unit-AD1
      - PCL
      - Remote Operator's Software
I don't see any PS Kit.
What is this PS Kit? Is it something I can install on the device? Is it a software or a hardware thing?

It is a license based option that is required to use the PS print driver. It is not a hardware based option, you use the LMS to register it to the device.

You don't need the ps3 driver unless your printing from a Mac pc. We always used the canon driver.

Print the right colors? Compare to what?
Every color machine will print different to some degree. Did you recalibrate machine at location.

Re: Canon IRA C5030i won't print with PS3 driver

I'm trying to print some discount cupons for example. It has purple in it, and the purple comes out very different from the screen. I mean very very different.
I know I won't be able to match Monitor Color, but the color that's printing is very different, much more red in it and much less blue i think. And it is much darker.
I'm trying to print directly from windows explorer, right click on the jpeg and print.
I did the same thing on a Konica Minolta Bizhub C360 and the colors came out ok. Maybe not exactly like the screen, but really close. The Bizhub C360 is installed with the PS Driver.
Interesting thing: in my C5030 "Properties" interface, in the Quality Tab, I checked "Manual Color Settings", clicked the "Color Settings" button, and in the "Matching" Tab I selected "No Driver Matching". The purple from the cupon is now more like the screen (or like the print from the Minolta), but still not as good as the Minolta.
I will attach 3 files: one with the cupon than I'm trying to print, one scan of the printed cupon, and one scan of the printed cupon with "No Driver Matching" option.
If you have this printer please try to print the cupon and see the difference.

Color reproduction between different manufactures can not be compared.

Toner properties different, the lay down sequence of single colors are different.

And without a Fiery Server or Print Kit u are stuck in the mud with poor color control

UFRII can not ever match up to PS color management.

That's exactly what I'm thinking and that's why I tried to install the PS driver, but unfortunately I don't have a PS Kit.
I'm very disappointed with Canon, I had a similar issue with a MF8430CDN. The client had a turquoise logo but on the print it came out blue. He ended up changing his printer...
And I'm pretty sure the problem is driver related.

Anyway, thank's everyone for trying to help me!
