Still having this issue. Customer has AdvC2020 with 2 drawers, paper is not lifting in the bottom drawer. We have replaced the paper feed unit, cassette tray and dc controller still not lifting. Am I missing something on this model?

No error code on the display ?
Does it see the tray at all ?
Only issues i found where related to the tray, like broken claw or gears...
Does the machine have a tray 3 ? Does that one work ?
In the manual I could only find this error relating to lifting cass 2 :
E540 0001 05 Tray Lift Motor timeout error
Unable to complete the operation even after the specifed
period of time during initial rotation. When the Motor remains
in the same area for the specifed period of time and the
same symptom occurs again after the frst retry, it is detected
as an error.
1. Check if the Motor (M11) Connector is physically removed.
2. Replace the Motor failure occurs.
3. Check if the Stack Tray Clock Sensor (S14) Connector is
physically removed.
4. Replace the Stack Tray Clock Sensor (S14)

No errors. It does see the tray, just doesn't detect paper. I thought all of this was contained in the paper feed unit itself so we replaced it but no change. There are only 2 trays, the top one works fine. We replaced the cassette and the dc controller also.Comment

If u remove paper in tray,
Does printer post message to add paper ?**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**

Ok, put paper back into tray > the add paper message goes away ??
If so , pick up roller rotation is not hitting paper -----what about jam codes

Check the wire harness for the switches behind the tray on the machine. I have had a few on a different model where the wires break, poor titewrap placement causing those and other messages. Seems like you replaced everything else. Good Luck!Comment

Check the size sensor. On the other models the wiring gets stressed (spring loaded) and breaks. They moved the wire tie on the new assemblies. Some models the two trays are the same and you can swap to check. Not sure about that model. I usually have it show paper when it is empty in top tray.Comment

I/O information enhancement
On the COPIER > I/O, the mode to confirm input output signal of electrical parts used (sensor,
motor, fan, etc), makes it easier to look for the intended electrical part.
And the screen will also display the input output signal.

There are 3 sensors = A/ps18-B/ps19-Flug/ps16_to detect the paper level and paper presence in the cassette.
The paper level is displayed in four levels in the Control Panel.
full--approx. half--little--absent
Cassette Paper Presence Sensor--Fulg==PS 16 for #2 Paper tray.
did u check the 5v at DCPCB J 28 pin 18 ?? Pin 16 is GD/ Pin 17 is Signal / Pin 18 is 5v
