    Canon IR1023 paper size detection

Is paper size detected by the exit sensor? I have a machine that gives me intermittent jams and or mostly incorrect paper size after paper exits the machine. Does the same thing whether its in network or not. There is no paper size detect in the cassette.right?
Could be paper feed rollers need replacement.

I would remove the fuser and check the sensors there and the exit actuator they notoriously hang up

May sound silly, but check the paper settings in "Settings/Registration". Someone might have changed them. Another thing to check are the pickup (D-Rollers) and the feed/sep rollers. If they're worn, you'll get "Incorrect Size" errors.

Registration clutch may be hesitating. Print user data list. They're framed and you can see if the registration is varying

thanks for great info . It was feed and separation rollers that were causing enough hesitation to slow paper timing and for some reason stop paper as it entered the fusing unit. thanks
