depending on the firmware version try holding down on the 1&9 keys while turning on the main power. this will do a scan disk and take about 30 min to complete. A white cursor will appear on the screen and start filling the screen.

Thank you. The error code changed to e6020001 and e6020003 but after I did the 1+9 trick it came up as usual and is copying nice now

To clarify I am NOT a copier tech but a computer tech who is working on these simply because there is no other option I cannot call for service since we are in the Antarctic.
Can I simply replace with a laptop harddrive and load the system software? As I can hear this harddrive working and coughing I think it is physically near its end...

does your machine have a network card? IF so you can install Sys using a crossover cable. If not it has to be done with a parallel cable. With a new HD It will first have to be formated using the Support tool. Do you know how to use the Tool? Can provide further help if needed.I noticed you have the service manual it will tell you how to update the Sys Soft.

Hey I ran into problems when trying to format the new laptop harddrive using the service support tool. When I try and formal all I receive this error:
                      150
type of hard disk drive is not match

Everything was working up until that point, have you seen this problem before?

From what I've been told, you can only use specific hard drives. If you do a search here, you may find that thread.

No..a standard parallel cable won't work...as that is NOT a standard printer port.
SST does not support connection via parallel...only USB or network.
The "USB" refers to the Nethawk driver and Nethawk USB to Parallel cable.

You need to add the hdd manufacturer and number to the hd format in your system software.open the hd format file in notepad and you will see all the hard drives that can be used listed ,you need to add yours to that list, copy and paste one of the hard drives listed(include everything especially the comer at the end)and then replace the manufacturers name and number with yours.let me know how you get on
