IRA 4035 document feeder double feeding sometimes

DADF-AG1 is the document feeder. The machine only has 140k on it. The sep pad assembly, feed and pickup roller have been replaced. Is anyone aware of a Tech Pub on this issue or a work around? The feed system looks just like the document feeder on the IR3245. This appears to happen once and awhile during scanning. I have been trying to figure out a way to increase this document feeder's ability to separate originals.

Replace the pad, and often. Depending on the paper the customer is using the pads always wear out early. I let the feed and pick up go to 100% but change the pad. Try cleaning it with alcohol, if it works then replace it. The cleaned pad won't last long.

Thank you Roho. The pad and rollers where replaced when I delivered the copier two weeks ago.

There may have been a small 2 piece metal weight and a clip to hold it under the pad. Some techs never notice it and just throw the new pad on with the old spring. I can't remember if these pads do or don't come already with that weight. Perhaps the spring has been deformed? Is the door closing properly? Usually the pad takes care of this, see if the current pad has those weights under it.

I believe it is the most current version. FM1-A719-000 Separation pad unit?
